Mean, lean, thinking machine.

Ok, so here’s the deal. I have been dealing with some hard decisions these past weeks. I have chosen not to share them with you, because I have yet to understand what has put me in this situation myself. I promise I will update in more detail later, when I know more of what’s going on or at least know what’s g0ing to happen. For now, I am letting you in on this piece of info: I am done at SUU – I will not be going back there next semester.. I said goodbye to some really good friends last week, and the thought of maybe not seeing some of them again, breaks my heart!

My point with this is to let you know, and make you understand why my blog will be more about my life and my thoughts, rather than school related issues in the coming time. Oh my, I’m planning on letting you in my head for a bit. Only a little though, I don’t think you could handle the whole thing..

There is a person in my life that really challenges my way of thinking. I love this challenge that’s given to me, and it’s making me think a little extra these days! In other words, these are the things I’ll be writing about, until I set forth with my next adventures in life!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Lisa :)

Here’s to you!

I want to say thank you to the best roomie ever. I know it sounds oh so cheezy, but I’m preachin’ the truth right now.

Her name is Camilla, but she goes by Cammie. We are much alike, but still so different. This girl is the reason I haven’t given up on this whole Cedar thing. She’s who I go to when I feel the need to cry. She’s the one I have some of my best laughs with. She’s the one I can share my secrets with, and know there will be no judgement. She’s the one I can (hypothetically) fart in front of, and she just laughs.

Let me just tell you. This girl will text you to let you know she did your laundry (and apologize that everything isn’t folded). She will listen to you whine about everything you have to do, and then ask what all she can do to help (and she actually does it).. One night, I had trouble falling asleep, so this one right here straight read me to sleep. When I’m in the library feeling sorry for myself she’ll just show up out of nowhere with my favorite drink and candy to make me feel better.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, Thanks.

Ps! If you wanna feel cool and get a instant like on something you post on FB, this is the girl to have on your friend list. She’s on top of her game when it comes to FB! hehe

Creeper. Jk!!

Brings me hot chocolate in the library for no reason!

Goes out with me even when she’d rather be sleeping..

Goes for a hour car ride, so I can get my halloween costume the very last minute.

Joins my splurge when eating out..

Ok, so you get the point. This girl is amazing.

That’s why I wanna tell you thank you Cammie. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me here. And thank you for being my friend. Please always remember how special you are, and how much you are worth. You are the best at giving others advise, just remember to use some for yourself! And please remember, if anyone gives you a hard time, I will straight up give them the evil eye!

Love you.

“Bro, you ain’t crazy like her though!”

If you only knew. It kinda makes me wanna giggle at the fact that people think they know me in and out after this short amount of time. I understand that when you know a lot of people, get involved in things around town, and let’s not forget; blog about your deepest feelings and thoughts, it becomes easy to think you know. But you don’t. Talking to some people today made me realize how powerful we are in our own lives. Some are in the habit of saying as little as possible, others just share it all.

I have told my story to some of my friends here, some turned out to not deserve my trust, others shared their story back. But the whole God damn thing is only known by a few, and these individuals are located in Norway. I’ve learned the importance of not judging someone before you have a reason to. And even then there is room for understanding. My mom always said that everyone is different, and what a great thing that is. The world would be boring if we were all the same. There is no other time this seems more true than now. Please don’t judge people just because they are so much more different than you. We can all learn from each other, you know!

So this is kinda all over the place. But the last weeks have just made me think about how we as humans work. Our everyday might be different, but at the end of the day we are all aiming for something,  right? If it is in the company of your God, in the faith that money is everything, or that being beautiful (by society’s definition) is the ultimate description of happiness, I think we all just want to be happy! My stupid Social Worker brain is excited by thoughts like this, and it won’t leave me alone, so I want to ask you, what is your goal in life? Are you gonna make it there by doing what you are doing right now? Is holding back on who you really are the right way to pave your way, and is judging other people taking you to the finish line?

Oh, the questions of life..

Anyways.. It’s time to switch off the Social Worker and get back to my Criminal Justice groove. 1/5 finals are done, and I’m looking forward to tackle the rest as this week continues. 4 more days and this miss is back in Texas!

Oh, and by the way! I’ve noticed that most of my readers are back! I love you all!! Looking at the statistics blow my mind. To be honest, I never thought this would be a success. I mean who thinks their life is so interesting that the number of readers will ever get this high?! Not me.. But the numbers are a fact, and it just makes me smile! Just wanna give a huge thank you to everyone!

You’re awesome people!

Aaaand she’s back!!

So first of all I feel like I should apologize for not writing in forever.. I’ve had so many people asking about this blog, and I feel really bad that I haven’t written in a while. It’s just been super busy, and I know it’s not the best excuse, but it’s the one I’m giving you at this point.

But don’t worry, I am back and plan on paying more attention to this little baby of mine from now on. It’s actually kind of ironic, because I say I’ve been too busy to pay attention to the blog, but I am bringing it back to live the day before finals week. At least we all know I haven’t changed these past months.. I do have a video that was supposed to be the “hey I’m back post”, but still trying to decide if this is something I can put on here or not! I guess you’ll find out soon enough! :)

For now there isn’t really much more to say. I do promise to keep this blogging of mine going, and hopefully I’ll have all my readers back too. This is something I really enjoy doing, and I love all the feedback y’all give, so I sure hope we can get back to it fast!! Now I really have to get back to my homework (or maybe just take a nap!!)

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

It sure feels good to be back! :)

International student of the week!

So friday was busy, and so was the rest of the weekend. This is my excuse for not posting this before now. Last weeks international student of the week is actually one of the 6 other girls I live with. Her name is Sunkyung Kim, and she’s from South Korea.

Kim getting her drawing on. She’s real good at it too. Better than my line men..

1. How long have you been a student at SUU, and what is your major?

- For two months, I got here on August 20th.. My major is Business Management, but I really enjoy drawing :)

2. Name your three favorite things about SUU.

- Good PE building, the other students are really nice and good faculty.

3. What do you do when you get homesick?

- I just listen to music and meet with other Korean friends.

International Student of the week

Ok, so my plan is to make this a post that I do every friday. I think it’s a fun way to show the great international students at SUU. I’m sorry that this one is posted late, but I guess it doesn’t matter, since y’all didn’t know I was going to do it anyways! Time for me to quit writing crap and interduce y’all to this weeks international student. His name is Dennis Fuh, and he’s from Taiwan.

Dennis Fuh!

I asked Dennis three questions, and here are his answers;

1. How long have you been a student at SUU, and what is your major?

- I’ve been at SUU for almost two months. My major is Graphic Design. But like everyone else I have to do the General Education classes and on top of that even more because I’m a International exchange student.

2. How did you hear about SUU?

- Well, after I started to apply for the exchange program in my country, I found out that it’s only SUU that would provide me with a scholarship. The fact that I really wanted to visit the U.S. also played a part in choosing SUU.

3. What’s your favorite thing about SUU?

- I love everything about SUU. Both the students and the teachers are so nice and friendly! There is also a lot of school activities that I can attend while I’m here. It helps with being social and making friends for the future here at SUU!

Put your suit on!

I was super excited that I had so much going on this week. It would mean that I had a bunch to write about on my blog. The minor fact that I wouldn’t have time to actually write the posts, never crossed this blond mind of mine.

I’m gonna try and give you a quick update on my week, before I have to get back to my day of errands!

Wednesday we had a fundraiser with the ladies rugby team. I went early, because I had already planned with the other Norwegians to go out for dinner that day, so by the time my team got there, I had to leave. I always have fun with the rugby girls, so leaving was a bummer, but I had to study for two big tests the day after. I’m such a nerd…

Thursday came around, and that means rugby practice. I had to leave early (again) to go to the Honor Society meeting. Fun fact: I am actually the president for the Criminal Justice Honor Society at SUU. I’m freaking turning into an Americanized edition of Lisa/Norway…!

This kid wil challenge your American ways!

Friday was meant for homework, laundry and boring stuff. Instead I ended up at the school pep rally, and then at another “social event”..  At 01:00 AM, one of my best friends back home went on stage to do her debut in Bikini fitness, so of course I had to watch her!! She didn’t make it through to the finals, but I still think she was the most beautiful one. The way she made this happen, makes me so proud of her!!

Way to go girl, love you!! :)

Saturday came quick, and it was time for tailgate, football and yet another “social event”.

Let’s go SUU!!

Sunday is usually my day to do nothing but chill around the house with football on the TV. I haven’t been able to do this since I got here because the lack of a TV in our dorm. Hoping to fix this, so I can get back to my normal routine.. Till then, how about y’all just check out some of the pictures from this busy, but fun weekend! :)

It might be because we have horrible humor, but this is our kinda fun!

Dropped a pice of pasta by the hot plate, while cooking. Hard life making dinner in a kitchen you’re not used to, I guess..

So this girl is already decorating for Halloween..!

Got to hang out with some of my Norwegian friends. Always makes me happy!! :)

Tailgate with Cynthia! :)

All out with the superhero theme!

:)

:)

Our little wannabe tailgate! :)

Having too much fun at Walmart!!

Time for football!! SUU vs. MSU

Mandatory “we love ourselves picture”!

I’ve been feeling very homesick this weekend, just because there is so much going on, that I really wanted to be in Norway for. But luckily I had so much to do, I kinda kept forgetting about my homesickness. Of course there are people that make you upset, and then you get hit by the homesicknessX45.. But I have come to realize that no matter where you go in this world, there will always be the good kind of people, and the kind of people that just doesn’t care that they hurt others. I guess I just need to learn how to detect the bad quicker.. This was a major side note, but it breaks down to me wanting to say thanks to all the people who are making me forget about missing home by having fun with me :)
